Both the smartphones arrive with an all new design as compared to the Titanium lineup of phones from Karbonn and they are dual SIM devices with 3G connectivity support. Also, they run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean platform with no word regarding the roll out of any update. As far as the specifications are concerned, the Karbonn Opium 7 includes a 4 inch IPS display boasting WVGA 480×800 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor that is coupled with a mere 512 MB of RAM. The handset packs 4 GB of storage that can be extended externally up to 32 GB and other goodies such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 1,600 mAh battery. It arrives with a basic 5 MP primary camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facer.
The other handset launched in this lineup houses a 5 inch HD IPS display that carries a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The Opium 9 is stuffed with a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor that is supplemented with 1 GB of RAM that can handle the multi-tasking in a better way. Furthermore, there is 8 MP primary shooter paired with LED flash and a 2 MP front-facing snapper at the front to take charge of the video calling department. There are similar connectivity aspects as in the Opium 7 and a juicier 2,000 mAh battery onboard.
