Design and Build

The Huawei Mediapad X1 scores pretty high in the design and build department. The tablet is made of aluminium and need we say it looks pretty gorgeous as well. The tablet has a pretty high quality and looks like one that has been built to last for times to come. The Mediapad X1 is only 7.18 mm thick and weighs 239 grams. Side bezels have also been trimmed substantially which leads to only 103.9 mm. of width.

It has a 7 inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and has a pixel density of 323ppi. It is an IPS LCD unit, thus ensuring that you get some really good viewing angles and will support up to 10 fingers touch at once. The Huawei tablet scores high on the design and build department and feels really nice to hold in hand.

Camera and Internal Storage

The Mediapad X1 has a top of the line 13MP camera with a LED flash and auto focus. It supports 1080p video recording and will surely be your multimedia partner in the imaging department. Joining it is a 5MP front snapper for video calling and self-portraits. It has a decent quality and will ensure that you are not disappointed with the expect performance.

The internal storage of the Mediapad X1 stands at 16GB but you can expand the same via a microSD card by another 32GB. You get a 2GB RAM for seamless multitasking and you won’t ever run out of memory when you run RAM intensive applications.

Battery, OS and Chipset

Giving the Mediapad X1 the juice to run is a 5,000 mAh battery which will last it about 6-7 hours of heavy usage which is decent enough for a high specced tablet. So we are happy with what the Chinese manufacturer has bestowed the tablet with. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and seeing the fact that it has a set of top of the line specs, we can expect Huawei to give the Mediapad X1 an update in future. A Hisilicon Kirin 910 chipset is present under the hood of the Mediapad X1 which has a 1.6 GHz quad core CPU based on Cortex A9 architecture and a Mali-450 GPU takes charge of the graphics department. Huawei has done well to give the tablet a pretty capable processor.
