But the problem with most over-the-ear style headphones is that they are bulky and cause fatigue after wearing them for some time. So, the obvious thing to do is to look for a lightweight headset. Here comes the EKSA Air Joy Plus Ultra-Light Gaming Headset. As the name suggests, it is an ultra-lightweight headset designed for mobile gaming and it is a wired type. This is the review of the EKSA Air Joy Plus Ultra-Light Gaming Headset. We are writing this review after properly testing the headset with gaming (mobile and PC) and music. Continue reading the review to find out more about the same. What Do We Get? Let us kickoff this review by taking a look at the contents of the package. The first thing in the box is the headsets themselves. As they are wired type headsets, the connectivity cable (which is USB Type-C) comes attached to the headsets. Next, we have a USB Type-A (male) to USB Type-C extension cable. The wired connectivity in this headset is based on USB Type-C and does not use the 3.5mm jack. We felt this is a good option as almost all the latest smartphones and laptops come with a USB Type-C port and the 3.5mm audio jack has become an option. There is a hole adjacent to the microphone button. This contains the omnidirectional noise cancellation microphone, which we thought is an excellent feature of the EKSA Air Joy Plus Gaming Headset. Mobile gaming with EKSA Air Joy Plus headsets is very good. The surround sound effects do make a difference in FPS-style games. There is no lag or latency issue with these wired headsets and you can instantly feel the sound as soon as you trigger something on the screen. The included microphone is a good addition but the sensitivity is a little bit low. You have to place the microphone very close to your mouth for it to pickup the voice. Another good feature is its noise cancellation feature. EKSA calls this ENC, which is short for Environmental Noise Cancellation. Apart from the main microphone, which is usually near your mouth, there is a secondary microphone right next to the microphone mute button. This is an omnidirectional microphone and it picks up the ambient noise from the room. Apart from gaming, we also tested the headset with music. while gaming, we enabled the surround sound mode and for music testing, we switched to stereo mode. The headset lacks punchy bass and bass lovers will be disappointed. But if you like flat music, then the EKSA Air Joy Plus Headset is quite good. By default, this feature is enabled on the Air Joy Plus but you can change the sound output to just stereo mode using the EKSA 7.1 Surround Sound Driver Software. The official EKSA website has the download link for this software but it is only available for Windows operating system. If you want further customization, the tuning software allows you to manually adjust the equalizer to set the sound output as per your liking. You can also enable or disable the ENC (environmental noise cancellation) feature from the tuning software. Speaking of surround sound, you can easily change the output mode (between 7.1 surround sound and stereo sound) with the tuning software, but only from a Windows machine. You can also customize the sound output using the equalizer in the tuning software. Additionally, the software allows you to enable or disable the environment noise cancellation option. Sadly, bass lovers cannot enjoy music with these headsets as the output is pretty flat with very little bass. But if you are into mobile or PC gaming and want to experience lag-free audio, then the EKSA Air Joy Plus Ultra-Light Gaming Headset is a must-have for mobile gaming.
